Modification of a Solar Thermal Collector to Promote Heat Transfer inside an Evacuated Tube Solar Thermal Absorber

Evacuated-tube solar collector (ETSC) is developed to achieve high heating medium temperature. Heat transfer fluid contained inside a copper heat pipe directly affects the A 10 mol% of ethylene-glycol in water this system. The purpose study modify inner structure evacuated tube for promoting through aluminum fin by inserting stainless-steel scrubbers increase conduction surface area. experiment set up measure temperature at tip which exchange area between and medium. vapor/ liquid equilibrium (VLE) theory applied investigate phase change behavior fluid. Mathematical model validated with 6 experimental results performance ETSC system evaluate feasibility applying modified small-scale industries. indicate that average increased 160.32 °C higher than standard approximately 22 leading its efficiency 34.96%.
